Winter Carnival Needs Volunteers!

The McCall Winter Carnival planning stage is underway and the committee is asking the community for volunteers to chair some of this year's events. Perhaps the biggest event of the carnival, The Mardi Gras Parade on Jan. 26, still needs a chair, as well as the Children's Neon Light Parade on opening night, Jan. 25. 2007 Holiday Happening Tickets On Sale

McCall Memorial Hospital's Holiday Happening, a traditional kickoff to the holiday season, will take place Saturday, Dec. 1 at Whitetail Club and Resort. The theme this year is "That Christmas Feeling." The event begins at 11am and includes a luncheon, featuring a fashion show, music, silent auction and raffle prizes. Tickets cost $25 and will be available for sale at the auxilary gift shop in downtown McCall and the hospital's Community Services office. For more info call 208-634-4061 ext. 180.

Festival of Trees

While others are carving pumpkins and preparing for Thanksgiving, the Friends of McCall Library are decorating for Christmas. The 9th Annual Festival of Trees sponsored by the Friends of McCall Library, will be held at McCall Golf Clubhouse during Thanksgiving Week. Admission is free, and more than 40 artificial lighted drees are expected to be donated for the four-day silent auction event. Viewing and silent auction hours are Wednesday 11/21 4-7pm, 11/22 4-7pm, 11/23 1-7pm, and 11/24 1-7pm. Special events include visits with Santa Claus and children's library story hour at 11:30am on 11/21. There will also be live music, food and beverage for sale, wreaths and decor items, and trees for sale.
